I think it's a really bad thing to have an inflated sense of self. that may sound ridiculous coming from someone on their own personal blog but I really mean it. Just saw a commercial for this movie "my bloody valentine 3D." It doesn't look interesting in the slightest but I've never gotten to see a 3D movie in theaters and the idea of it sounds awesome. Comes out jan 16th. Ill be on tour at the time so maybe ill be able to get everyone to take me for my birthday haha. That's coming up in a couple weeks too. Should be fun! I wonder how ill celebrate. happy birthday dad

so today is my dad's birthday, hes 62 and doesn't look any different than he has for the last 21 years I've known him. It was awesome to get home just in time to be able to take him out to dinner. I STILL and ALWAYS will look up to him more than any other person out there. such a great man and he's had such a full inspiring life. love him and my mom more than anything. im not religious but im truly blessed to have great parents and a lot of amazing people in my life.

home for the rest of 09 aside from a few holiday shows and I'm stoked to be getting some things done. lots of thieves business stuff to wade through along with working on a lot of music. ill also be writing with/producin some other artists in this time and thats always a lot of fun. Stopped at a gas station in IL. On the way to madison WI right now for the last date on the acoustic tour with chris. Should be fun. Listenin to the jam we recorded in chicago and a mix of blackstreet, mgmt, lil mama, the cool kids, and numerous other hilarious artists haha. Pretty much anything to pass the time works.

I love picking just the right music for the mood of the drive. Though I always force the first coldplay album onto people at night and end up having to take it out right after "sparks' before the driver falls asleep.

Music(s) is so wacky. I feel like im antsy about something but im not sure what. Im not too particularly stoked about playing tonight. I think im just really anxious to use some of this upcoming holiday time home to write. Very stoked on that actually.

I want to explore some new moods and paint splashes of sound. Just some shit that's different than what I've approached before. Its good to whipe the slate clean at times and put on a new pair of glasses.

On the way to nick scalises studio here in chicago to do some recording on these off days. Woke up like an hour and a half ago (10am) and not that tired anymore. Should be good today, headed over there with gabby and chris.

Yesterday was laid back as hell, just spent it chillen with gabbys roomates and chris. Finally saw stepbrothers too. Funny.

There was some wack music bein played between shows on mtv2 yesterday, what the hell was that about? They were featuring like really small unsigned artists but damn I could have found about a million better/more deserving ones in .5 seconds. Silly mtv2. Oh well just keep showin us love.

Past few days were awesome. Im officially in love with all the driver side impact guys haha. Show tonite was really fun, such cool people in hazel park Michigan. Im looking forward to doing some recording in chicago this week and getting over to the victory office. Should be a really productive week business and musical wise. Chris and me plan to bring an ice cream cake with a bulldog on it into the office for everyone haha. And of course a nice bottle for the big man. Great people over there.

I woke up to a guy that looks like ghostface killah opening the door to our room last night. Found out later that he was just the cleaning dude. It was creepy though.

Being out with just chris has been dope. We've been writing a lot of new shit at night and on guitar center pianos during the day haha. We're so fucking stoked on new music. We're def gonna be gettin some studio time in our first amount of free time and putting up some of this stuff for free DL. I just feel like brand new again and so so excited about music in general. I was a bit burnt out on things and the music business in general this year since the record came out but I finally feel refreshed and am making the best music of my life. So happy about this growth in my life and our music. If you doubted us the first time around just wait and see. Fuck this "scene" bullshit that we seem to be roped into at times. We just make MUSIC and that's gonna become a lot clearer as we release more of it.

And on that note michigan should be fun tonite. Im 21. Its 08. The air is cold but life is grand.

Woke up like an hour ago. Stayed at some random hotel in PA about 30 miles out of columbus ohio last night. Def legit, nice desk woman and a giant ass bed. Worked on some new music with chris and then watched fresh prince til like 4am haha. Thankfully chris for some reason sets an alarm for every hour so sleep was really choppy, but it always is.

Gas is cheap as helll out here. Good old Flying J. Bathrooms are always to the right, drivers lounge to the left, hilarious novelty mountain lion tees right in the center.

Headed to guitar center now. Well see how today goes. First show of this lil acoustic run. Not too much thought goin on right now, just existing.

ive started reading old music theory books again recently. I love relearning stuff and really learning a lot of it for the first time haha. I remember writing a piece for the school band to play when I was a freshman haha. I need to get back to that world of clefs and notes. this'll get me closer to my goal of composing movie scores I figure. never hurts to have more knowledge. work work work.
